There is nothing quite like an outdoor country wedding in BC.  Carla and Trevor have a gorgeous piece of property in the country just outside of their small town, and decided it would be the perfect place to celebrate their wedding with friends and family.  And they were so right.  I met with them at their home during the winter to shoot their engagement session and knew right away it was going to be a spectacular setting, but my imagination did NOT do justice to how beautiful it is in the summer.  One of the things I love about Barriere is the beauty of the countryside, and this little piece of heaven showcases that perfectly!  I want to give a huge shoutout to Kathryn Learie of Owen Imaging for second shooting with me this day!  We had a lot of fun together and her images are the perfect complement to the story of this wedding!

A grassy field next to the house and ceremony grounds was set up as a campground and was full of everything from simple tents to huge RV rigs. The relaxed holiday vibe was awesome!  This great vibe was, in my opinion, due to the fact this was the most chill bride and groom EVER… seriously, it was amazing.  They had put a LOT of work into getting everything just right for the wedding and they were happy to let the day do its thing.  And it did…. seamlessly. The weather?  perfect.  The location?  fantastic.  The bride?  Stunning!!  The groom?  He cleaned up pretty well too, heh heh.  Both the bride and the groom are avid rugby players, and there were definitely some rugby-esque moments during the day that were highly entertaining and rather hilarious.  A photographer’s dream, haha!!

The guys wore white shirts and Wranglers with their cowboy boots (authentic, I love it!!). The colour was perfectly set off by the mint dresses of the bridesmaids and the bouquets of cheerful gerbera daisies and roses were just the right little pops of colour.

The ladies spent a leisurely morning in the house, getting hair and makeup done and finalizing details there, while the groom and groomsmen spent the morning with the guests in the camping area before dressing for the ceremony.  With blue skies and a smattering white clouds, the day was perfection both for the beautiful, intimate ceremony location and for the gorgeous mountain top spot they chose for the portraits.  So many pretty things wrapped up into one amazing day!!!!

There is a SPECTACULAR mountaintop view on the property, one that requires an adventurous 4×4 drive up the mountain, that Carla and Trevor specifically wanted photos at.  You probably know where I’m going with this…. it was 1000% worth it.  So gorgeous!!!!  I love shooting in locations that are new and different, so it was the best!!

The house has an incredible wrap-around deck… when Carla was first talking about having the whole thing lit with string lights I knew we would have to end the night with a few night portraits there, lol, but it was even prettier than I’d imagined.  It really was the perfect way to end a ridiculously amazing day!

With that, I’ll leave you to peruse this collection of some of my favourite images and moment of Carla and Trevor’s beautiful wedding day!  Enjoy!
