There is something almost magical about documenting parents with their new baby. The awe and wonder and heartstealing love I see for these new little humans brings tears to my eyes and fills my heart right up. It’s palpable, and it’s beautiful to capture.
So hard to believe that I first met these guys 5 years ago already, on the slopes of Sun Peaks for their engagement session. Since that first session I photographed their wedding, spent time (and engaged in various shenanigans) with them at their friends’ wedding and Rock the Frock in Australia, and met them on Muskoka Lake in Ontario for James’ brothers wedding. Along the way they’ve crossed over from being clients to being friends. It’s fantastic and I’m super thankful to count them as friends. You guys are awesome… just saying 🙂
Our most recent photography encounter was to document this, the arrival of their gorgeous, perfect, sweet little boy. The day we chose for the shoot happened to be on a day where the winter roads between our communities of Kamloops and Penticton were clear and the snow wasn’t falling (yay!)… we couldn’t have timed it better. Nathan was exactly 14 days old, and the perfect model. He was awake for enough of the session that I could document his most gorgeous big blue eyes.
And, as a total aside… are these not the cutest little diapers you’ve ever seen? lol.
