Ahhhh, so many things to say about Lisa and Jared’s intimate Kelowna vineyard wedding, but where do I start? The stunning bride? The emotion so palpable it made me cry just a little? The intimate first dance they had in the gazebo? The gorgeous fall light? The stellar venues? These photos hardly begin to tap into the joy and love and gorgeousness of this day… I love winery weddings, and when you pair that with the stunning views at both Sanctuary Gardens and Quail’s Gate in West Kelowna, it’s just going to look incredible!
Here’s a bit more of Lisa and Jared’s love story… and it’s a good one! I love that they started out as high school pen pals!
Describe in just a couple sentences how you met:
We became pen pals when we were 16 years old, and kept in touch by letters, emails, and phone calls until we finally met for the first time when we were 24. The rest is history!
What were your first impressions of each other?
Groom: From the moment we first met, it felt like we had been together for years. Everything was so comfortable it was hard not to immediately fall in love.
Bride: I thought Jared was shy and very quiet, but I could tell from the first minute that he had a very kind heart. And I’ve always loved his smile!
How did Jared propose?
We went to Jasper for a weekend away, and did a hike one afternoon to the summit of Whistler’s mountain. We were the only people at the summit, surrounded by wispy clouds, and Jared got down on one knee and proposed.
Why did you pick your wedding venue/city/location?
We picked Kelowna because we wanted our families to see the gorgeous scenery of the Okanagan (and also because the weather is more predictable than Vancouver!!). We picked Sanctuary Gardens for our ceremony because we fell in love with how serene and peaceful it felt there. It seemed like such a simple and beautiful place to begin our life as husband and wife.
Favorite moments of your wedding day?
Bride: Hearing Jared read his beautiful vows to me in front of our families, dancing together as husband and wife alone under the gazebo, and sitting at the dinner table next to my new husband watching all of our family smile and laugh together.
Groom: Watching my gorgeous bride walk down the path towards me, holding hands and staring into her eyes during the ceremony, and having our first dance together alone under the gazebo.
