This stunning couple is Kayla and Nevin. These two had their wedding at The Dunes in Kamloops on a wet spring Saturday. I can’t even tell you how awesome this couple is…. I could tell you that Kayla allowed herself only a few moments to worry about the fact that it was going to rain all day before embracing the change and having a phenomenal day in spite of the last minute ceremony change. I could go on and on about how sweet they are together, how they spent the day looking out for each other, about the palpable emotion that passed between them every time they made eye contact throughout the day. I could even share a whole blog post of just the two of them rocking it on the dance floor (there’s a few so you’ll get the idea). All of this, however, really won’t do justice to these lovely, lovely humans and their gorgeous wedding day! They have also surrounded themselves with pretty incredible people, and I spent time both laughing and wiping tears away behind my camera.
So much went into making the day sparkly and full of absolutely incredible details. The florals by Brandy Maddison Events were stunning, the decor by First Comes Love was amazing, and that stationery by Modern Invitations… so beautiful!! Such talent we have here in Kamloops!!! Even the locket on Kayla’s bouquet, which has been in the family for generations, fit the day and the decor perfectly. And oh, my gosh…….. speaking of stunning…… Kayla was glowing and looked gorgeous!!!
I met up with the gals first thing in the morning. To sum up how that all went, I’ll quote one of the bridesmaids who said, as I was leaving to go photograph the guys, “We’ll try not to do anything cute while you’re gone!” And that was how the whole day went…. all the way to the later hours of the night when they tore up the dance floor. The bridal party was NOT serious, haha,… the plan was to enjoy the day and have as much fun as possible, and they sure did!
The fact that it rained pretty much all day didn’t slow them down at all, and the fact that it kept raining well into the night meant I got do do some rain portraits after dark, which I hardly get to do. It was the BEST silver lining ever!!
Kayla and Nevin, you and your family and friends are simply amazing! So thankful to have been part of your day!!!!!!
