Ahh, this family!! I love these guys, and it’s always so fun to photograph friends :). Since we met 8 years ago I’ve photographed them three times, and it’s been a fun visual journey of their kids growing up! Every time we do a shoot we find a different, beautiful, location in the Kamloops area. This time we chose to photograph their family session at the spectacular Harper Mountain, and it was amazing! Full disclosure though… as gorgeous as the month of June is you are taking your fate into your own hands as far as mosquitoes go, especially near standing ponds of water, haha. There may or may not be a couple outtakes at the end of the post… good thing bugs make great bokeh during the golden hour!!! lol. Oh my word. Good thing this family trusts me to make beautiful photos in spite of the plague that was coming for us all evening.
We kept on the move, starting at the water where the sun was going to set first and then moving around the property chasing the light. Sometimes I wish I had someone photographing behind the scenes for me, we laughed a LOT in between shots, it was the best way to spend an incredible evening. Minus the bugs, of course. And doesn’t their cute dog look kind of epic gazing off into the setting sun?? Where are we going next, friends?? 🙂
The beautiful golden hour sunshine in these photos has me longing for spring… its dark and dreary and colorless outside right now… but the days are getting longer and the sunshine is coming back soon!!!
