Engagement session in Kamloops
This super sweet (okay, and gorgeous!) couple is just one of my couples who had to reschedule their wedding for next year. Covid-19 sure has had it’s way with the world in so many different ways. Some couples scaled their weddings back to fit the parameters of social distancing and allowable event number, and others decided to wait until they could have the wedding they’ve been planning and dreaming about. These two are with the second group, and decided to wait so they could have a wedding without all the current restrictions.
When we were first chatting about weddings and brainstorming photography ideas (so much fun!) we talked about the fact that Janet and Gary will be having a summer wedding in the city and how great it would be to have an engagement session that was totally different.
That conversation inspired an autumn session in the pretty forests and grassy meadows of Harper Mountain. Harper Mountain is just a short drive out of Kamloops and always, always looks beautiful. Harper also offers wedding rentals in the summer, and is a great rustic location for weddings with superb mountain views!
Golden Hour Sunshine, alpine meadows & a bit of magic
Truly, these two are a bit of magic together. Janet and Gary are a combo of super romantic all wrapped up in having a good time, and would go from dying laughing to smouldering romance in seconds. So fun on my end to have no idea what was coming next, lol!!
During their engagement session we roamed around Harper Mountain, chasing the end of day sunshine, wrapping things up as the sun set, drenching everything in spectacular golden light as it said goodbye to the day. And don’t even get me started on the cattails that were releasing seeds into the breeze! Like, seriously.
Such an incredible session…. writing about it gets me all excited again for what’s going to be a just as incredible wedding!
Kamloops Wedding Venues
Janet and Gary’s wedding will be at Thompson Rivers University here in Kamloops in the Horticultural Gardens (swoon…. the gardens are stunning!!!!). If you’re looking for wedding venues, by the way, and you love the look of gardens, and ponds, with access to the wild sagebrush and city views of Kamloops, along with a beautiful campus and great rental facilities and catering, you should really check out TRU. It’s a fabulous Kamloops wedding venue.
