Some you’ll see here are quiet and introspective, some are hilarious and may cause you to even laugh out loud. Some could even bring tears to your eyes. There are moments of freedom, of remembrance, of love and celebration. The photo above, for instance, is one of flower girls and a ring bearer burning some energy after the ceremony, running back and forth through the field. I love the freedom in that moment!!
Your wedding photographer is has the responsibility of capturing these moments for you, and it’s no small task. We can tend to get so caught up in all the big momentous parts of the day that we forget all these little unscripted moments that really tell the rest of the story. Over the years (I’ve been shooting weddings for a decade now… crazy right?!) I’ve learned to stay tuned in to the “sideline moments” of the day, keeping my eyes and ears tuned in to some of the peripheral things that could be happening. I love these moments, and my couples cherish them. I love the portraits from my wedding, but my favorite photos are still the unscripted moments that were caught by my photographer. Each of those photos reminds me of the story surrounding it, and those are the moments I remember with clarity. The undeniable power of a photograph!!
