I love it when a wedding day turns out so spectacularly beautiful, especially when it doesn’t look like it’s going to. I drove out to the Quaaout Lodge in a lightly falling rain, holding on to a forecast that said the drizzle should stop “just” in time for Richard and Richelle’s outdoor ceremony. As the morning progressed the drizzle continued to lighten, and it stopped completely shortly before the ceremony. Yay!! In the end, it was an amazing day for a beautiful Shuswap Lake wedding, and we didn’t have to deal with any rain. I always carry enough clear umbrellas in my car to cover the wedding party should they need it, but while I had them at the ready, we never needed them!!! It still would have been ridiculously beautiful even if it was rainy.
I’ve said it before, but I LOVE the Quaaout. Every time I shoot out there we go somewhere slightly different. Even if we’re in the same general area, the light is always different and I always see new angles or little spots to shoot in. So diverse, and so much fun!
After the ceremony we meandered around the property and we made great use of different areas. Rich and Chie were hoping to walk along the lake shore, and we seriously had the best timing… the sun came out just in time for bridal party portraits and hung in there until we were finished at the lake. Couldn’t have asked for more 🙂
It was such a pleasure documenting this gorgeous wedding day, and Rich and Chie, CONGRATULATIONS again! And every happiness in the world to you!! xo
