This amazing family has graced the pages of my blog a few times over the past few years, and every time it’s because we’ve gone on a grand adventure together. Seriously grand. Because when you are young, every adventure is a grand adventure, around every corner is something amazing, a babbling brook becomes alive with the promise of discovery, and every flower you pick for mom is THE. Perfect. Flower. And trying to keep up with these two energetic explorers reminded me how breathtaking our world is! Of course, traipsing around the alpine meadows of Sun Peaks on a summer afternoon truly is beautiful.
I’ve gone pumpkin hunting on one occasion with these guys, and Christmas tree hunting on another. This day, Jen asked if I would consider meeting them up at Sun Peaks for an afternoon hike in the alpine meadows. That was a solid yes please for me!! I’ve said this before, but these kinds of family sessions are my absolute FAVORITE… There were a few “scripted” moments where everyone sat and smiled for the camera, but the majority of the session involved organic moments, and a lot of running, literally, on my part, trying to keep ahead of the kids as they explored. There are a couple photos of the two children, sitting together with the handfuls of flowers they’d picked for their mom, and even that turned into a natural moment where you can clearly see that this little gal absolutely adores her big brother… I love capturing that stuff!!!
We are already talking about our next adventure, and I cannot wait for it 🙂 In the meantime, enjoy a bit of a tribute to summer ( can almost feel the sunshine), and maybe even find yourself getting drawn just a little bit into the joy of discovery as you scroll through this session!
